Schooling and Licensing Requirements in Wisconsin
You will need to fulfill some education and examination requirements to obtain a license to practice massage therapy in the state of Wisconsin.
You’ll have to complete a minimum of 600 hours education at an approved school. These hours will cover the following areas:
- 300 hours – Massage techniques and theory
- 125 hours – Kinesiology, anatomy, physiology, and pathology
- 50 hours – Business law and ethics
- 20 hours – Student clinic
- 5 hours – CPR and first aid
You are also required to pass two exams. A nationally recognized massage therapy exam, and a state test.
The national massage therapy exams that are approved are the MBLEx, NCETM, or the NCETMB.
