Schooling and Licensing Requirements in Idaho

There are some education and examination requirements when pursuing a license to practice massage therapy in the state of Idaho.

You need to have at least a high school diploma or similar. Then you will have to complete at least 500 hours of training and education at an approved massage therapy school.

These hours will be split across the following subjects:

  • 200 hours – Assessment, theory and application
  • 125 hours – Anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology
  • 110 hours – Clinical work
  • 40 hours – Pathology
  • 25 hours – Business and Ethics

You will also need to pass an exam. There is more than one exam at the time of writing this, it’s best to check with the Idaho Board of Massage Therapy to be sure of your options.
