Schooling and Licensing Requirements in Florida

The education requirements to obtain your license in Florida must include a minimum of 500 hours of education.

This should be broken down as follows:

  • 150 hours – Anatomy and physiology
  • 125 hours – Clinical practice
  • 100 hours – Massage theory and history
  • 76 – hours – Allied modalities
  • 15 hours – Hydrotherapy
  • 15 hours – Business
  • 10 hours – Florida laws and rules
  • 4 hours – Professional ethics
  • 3 hours – HIV/AIDS training
  • 2 hours – Medical errors

You will also need to sit and pass the MBLEx, or the Massage and Bodywork Licensing Exam.
