Schooling and Licensing Requirements in New Mexico
There are some education and examination requirements to obtain a massage therapy license in the state of New Mexico.
If you have no previous experience you will need to complete a minimum of 650 hours at an approved school.
These hours will include:
- 165 hours – Anatomy and physiology
- 150 hours – Massage therapy training
- 40 hours – Pathology
- 75 hours – General instruction
The remaining hours will cover various massage techniques and modalities as instructed by your school.
As of 2015 the only exam the state of New Mexico recognized as part of the license requirements is the MBLEx.
