Schooling and Licensing Requirements in Louisiana
To obtain a license to practice massage therapy you need to fulfill some education and examination requirements as set by the Louisiana Board of Massage Therapy.
You are required to complete at least 500 hours of education at an approved school. These hours cover the following topics:
- 325 hours – Massage therapy techniques and clinical
- 125 hours – Anatomy and physiology
- 50 hours – Course work
You will also cover business ethics, law, and a first aid certification. Your school will be able to guide you through the education requirements, so no need to worry about this part.
