The popularity of detoxing through juices, natural produce, and teas has increased significantly over the last few years. I’ve heard a lot about teatox diets this year and it seems to be one of the new ‘fads’, but what is a teatox diet?

I’ve tried it myself briefly to get a better understanding of teatoxing. I always like to try things for myself so I can comment and share my own personal experiences with different diets and alternative healthcare.

A lot of people are always chasing that new way to lose weight. It’s true that we are exposed to a lot of toxins every day, this can’t really be avoided. And, the teatox diet is very effective at cleansing these toxins.
By removing these toxins you experience a lot of positive health benefits, one of which is some weight loss. Not just in the short term either, a cleaner system with less toxins means your body runs more efficiently.
Your metabolism will speed up, you will digest food better, and you’ll have more natural energy to use as part of a healthier, and more active lifestyle. So the short answer is yes, teatoxing is effective at helping you lose weight. But it’s much more than that, it promotes a healthier you and better weight management.

How Safe Is a Teatox Diet and Are There Any Risks?
Teatox is safe, I will say that off the top. The teas are natural and organic if you’re picking up good quality products. Obviously, you have to follow the guidelines set out by the plan you’re following, and doing so will be perfectly safe.
There are some precautions to be aware of however. Pregnant women, people suffering from existing conditions or allergies, and children are not suitable for a teatox. If you’re unsure about anything, or just want to be completely sure, check with your doctor before starting a detox.
If you notice any adverse effects after starting a teatox you should also stop immediately and consult a medical professional. It’s perfectly normal to have more regular bowel movements and this isn’t something to be too alarmed about. A lot of tea contain herbs that act as natural laxatives, it’s all part of the process. Albeit a little unpleasant for some people.
